He breaks his record of 1,036lbs last year with a 1,042 pound fruit. His family was also there, telling the tales of lifting this monster out of the patch. Nice bunch those guys. We scrambled to put protection on the 995 Cater to protect Skeeter, the pumpkin I want to bring to Topsfield. It was an awful storm; I actually saw lighting come into my kitchen through the oven range. I blue light that crackled and made a frying noise! My husband and his friend were working on a John Deere tractor in the garage and the lightning entered the garage and hit the tractor they both got an awful zap! Talk about scary! I wanted to go soooo bad, there was too much goig on here at home. I did go with Kevin Companion & his better half, HA, HA, to the Big E. No really onlt so many wouyld be lucky enough to have a parter with so much support. Great couple! Thanks guys for inviting us we had a great time. all the growers I meet were great too. I will be at the VT weigh off on Oct 9 with Skeeter. It is at Gardeners supply about noon. Such hard times right now, oh well it can only get better right???? A dog that was in a small bread rescue in MA. This breed is said to be ten times faster than a cat, I believe that! Fastest little bugger I have ever seen. A descendent of the Greyhound, he is a fast runner, good to chase those ground hogs away. Not the greatest picture of him, he is hard to catch on camera!
