After a few years of disagreements with mother nature over a plethora of issues (weather, soil, disease, animals), it seems we've come to some resolution. At least for the time being.
It feels good to be back in the game.

This D13 set on my 1140 stevens plant is so aggressive it consumed an unsuspecting runner who got a little too close. poor guy (or girl). hope it was a merciful demise.

Here's the male i pollinated that 1140 stevens with. Must be where the aggressive, colorful personality this pumpkin has came from.
Dinnerplate Dahlias keep me occupied when nature decides to take the upperhand in the pumpkin patch. Not as satisfying as a 1200+ on a scale, but certainly pleasing to the eyes.
