Wednesday, July 30 View Page
772 is the size of a baseball. what a season.
Saturday, August 2 View Page
This was my 1317.5 Rose that aborted a few days ago. It looked completely normal.
Saturday, August 2 View Page
This is the aborted pumpkin a few days later. is this normal decomposition, or is this a disease of some sort?
Saturday, August 2 View Page
another shot
Saturday, August 2 View Page
Reason I am asking is because the one pumpkin that I have left is starting to get a "bumpy" look to it near the stem. I am hoping this isn't a sign of bad things to come.
Tuesday, August 12 View Page

UNBELIEVEABLE. found this notice on my door today. My pumpkin is sitting, you guessed it, right on the easement!!! should make for an interesting day tomorrow. pumpkin is estimated at 1050 and still putting on 7 pounds a day, with 12 days until weigh-off.
Tuesday, September 30 View Page
Well, the cable company did not have to do any digging, so the pumpkin has lived to see another day! also, the hoist I ordered arrived today... will lift her out of the patch with a tripod, and hopefully a little RMGVG help from some folks who have done this before.
Monday, October 6 View Page
looks like we got a frost warning for tonight. I attemped to cover the 300sq. foot 772 plant with 100sq. feet of frost blanket... so needless to say, I had to add a few tarps and sheets as well. Clearly not as elaborate as the cover that Joe put over the 1689. Inspired by Joe Jutras, designed to compete with Joe Scherber, lol. anything to try and get a few extra pounds.
Tuesday, October 7 View Page
Well, good thing I covered the plant last night. The covered part looks great. The small part that wasn't covered (which was all after fruit) got fried. Only lost a little bit of plant, and everything between the stump and the pumpkin is still alive.
Tuesday, October 7 View Page
Thanks to Aaron (captain cold weather) and Spencer for helping me put the tripod together tonight. Cut the side boards, got the drilling done, and everything looks great. Can't wait for Saturday... although its supposed to be cold and rainy!
Wednesday, October 8 View Page
Last picture before the weigh-off. OTT is in the 370s.

This is a picture of us lifting the 772 Poirier. Thanks everyone for your help... Aaron, Spencer, Barry, Joe, Wiz, Biz, Madman, Mike... and everyone else. Hopefully a small amount of Joe's magic soil was transferred from his shoes into my patch.
