Day 1 of the sub-terrainian adventure! Finally in the ground. Hopefully all is well from here!

Looks really cool with the lights on. Don't buy black light bulbs @ home depot. All mine blew up in the first hour. I put in lower wattage yellow bulbs I had in my shop. As long as the keep the seedlings warm, I can care less if they were pink! Temps still hanging in mid 30's @ night here.

Trying this out today! I am nervous about the temps and don't want to lose my seedlings. I have begun to prepare another batch, but I came up with this idea while I was going through my hunting room looking for something. I came across some of those hand warmer packs I use while ice fishing. As you can see in the pic it is a very simple concept. Simply take an empty coffee can and cut the bottom off. Stretch some clear plastic wrap over the top and secure with 2 rubberbands. Cut a few slits in the plastic so your plant can breathe, but the heat stays in longer. Take two of the handwarmer packs and open them up. Put the wrapping underneath so the heat reflects up a little and the moist soil does not cool it down. simply place them on the ground next to the seeding and cover with the "CAN-COCTION" I will let you all know if it works. The handwarmers come six in a pack and are like 2 or 3 dollars @ walmart! If anyone tries this also, let me know how you make out! [email protected]. If you e-mail, put Pumpkin somewhere in the subject or I will probably delete it without reading!!

Trying to prepare fofr the future! Does anyone else have problems with these guys. In alot of the pictures I see here, I don't see too many with high fencing, or sometimes they have none. I have one remedy, 270 WSM!!! But that could lead to legal woes!!

This is from a seed that I purchased @ home depot. Not growing very quickly, but looks nice. Even wth the one deformed seed leaf. That has been like that since it first popped.

One of the AG's I spoke of on the mesage board. Looking a little sick. Expecting low of 35 tonight. Weather STINKS!!! Would like to build a greenhouse the size of my shop so I can do this indoors!!!!!!!!!!
Wednesday, May 28 View Page
Sad to say that this is the best looking AG I have. They have been in the ground exactly one week today. Going very SLOW!!!

I put this one in the ground yesterday. Burpee giant purchased @ home depot. I call it the cheap seed, but my wife told me I should call it the inexpensive one so I don't hurt it's feelings. Looking very healthy. I will see how it goes

I put this one in the ground on the 4th. Decided to name it HOMER. Going real well now. Has doubled in size, if not more since then.

I think this is the money plant!!! I posted a pic a that said it was the best looking AG that I had and it did not look too promising. Looking great now. Thanks to the somewhat normal temps. It has been quite hot the last few days, but they are getting plenty of hydration.

Here is another AG that looked very sickly a few days ago. Things are starting to come around.

The broken part! I believe it was the stem to the first true leaf. It was the biggest one on there, and if it did not twist when he got smashed, this was in the position in wich I had planted it.
Wednesday, June 11 View Page
This is the one that broke.

Torn leaf on another plant. There is another leaf on the same plant that is torn

The other torn leaf.

Took a genuine butt woopin' on Tuesday, but still hanging strong. You can see where I wrapped some string aroud the broken stem in hopes that it would graft itself back together. Three days after snapping, has not lost a bit of green in the leaf! Weird!!

One of two Dill's AG that I have in the ground. This is Money! Somebody told me name the pumpkin, not the plant. You have to have a pumpkin to name don't you?

I could not resist!!!! After reading the cut the cruelty thread in general discussion, I find it very ironic that my hunting buddy in alabama sent me this photo of a trophy squirrel shot in alabama!

On the way back from Mississippi, I stopped to visit the hunting camp in Stevenson Alabama. Wantede to check out the work that has been done since I left in January. This pic is me in the middle of an 800 acre clear cut. Now that would be one hell of a patch. And I thought it was hard keeping up with 2500 square feet!!!!

This is LITTLE BLUE. The Jaradale that I have cross bread with an AG. Interested to see how this turns out.
Sunday, July 27 View Page
Here are my numbers I said I was going to post in the thread in the new growers forum. My plant called MONEY,@ day 15 Est. weight - 34Lbs. HOMER, The tornado victim @ day 14 25Lbs. HOMER2 @ day 13 27Lbs. My other AG @ day 11 too small for the chart, but I'm guessing about 12Lbs. I culled the plant called BIG BLUE This Morning. The female I had going stopped growing. MONEY is running right toward that space so I made him some room!! LITTLE BLUE @ day 13 guessing 15Lbs. This pollinated with a male from MONEY. These Blues usually range from 6 to 12 Lbs. When they are harvested. I am very interested to see how this one turns out.

Nice and dry and cozy in the garage. Waiting to head to the scales. No record breakers here, but proud of my rookie season efforts.
