The snow is finally off the garden now showing the debris from last years jack-o-lanterns. Hopefully it's dry enough to run the rototiller through it next week.

I started two seeds on April 1st. The 2106 Schmit came up on the 6th - its the plant I want to go with this year.

I don't think spring is coming to Edmonton this year. I need to get in my garden to start prepping and I think it's still frozen...

6 inches of snow today. I really need to get my plant in the ground. This is one of the worst springs I can remember!

Plant is now in the ground - hopefully better weather will make everything all right. 2016 Schmit looks good but has suffered from being indoors way too long.

Plant is looking great! Only potential issue is that the secondaries are a little slow in coming (and growing straight up)

Removed the hoop house today. Secondaries are still lagging but starting to come along. Very compact plant with tight leaf spacing. Automated water and fertilizing turned on.

After having no male flowers available for the first 6 females that opened I finally get a couple opening. Unfortunately they look like this! Anyone else ever get males that are useless like this. This year is going to be a bust unless I can find someone in Edmonton with a few male flowers to spare...

I pulled the plant and tilled the garden - dismal failure this year...
