The seedlings in the pots from left to right are straight soil on left to pure coal ash on right changing one quarter then half then three quarters to only coal ash I have 2 lots both have had sea sol power feed and 1 batch has had myco gold and serenade

Close up pot on left one quarter soil other pure coal ash we use a fair bit in our potting mixes especially avocado mix it's very light and some of it looks like a product called zeolite it's a big part of the drainage in the mixes

Cover crop growing well thinking about mowing it down and putting in rye but not sure as looking to add coal ash and sand and get it where I want it before soil testing

Soil came up nice added lots of coal ash and metal dust should drain nicely will still rip it again and get soil test done

Ploughed hoed and ripped going to cover patch with soya bean mulch doing this now as I want the mulch to be breaking down as the vines are running over it

This makes it easy zip tied to plastic nursery bench tops two edges zip tied together so can be shut up like a book

Put coarse sand over cables help with heating they only go on for a short period but it gives the plants a better start hopefully then battle the heat

Got 2 plants planted in the patch today this one is one of my own seed got small tunnel houses but with temps reaching 30 and 30 plus it seems not Nessasary plus heat cables but last year this time it was cold

Got a 1694 geddes going a little bit younger than other plant in the last week we have varied up and down temps from 8 degrees to 33 degrees you shut up hoop house but make sure it's open before it gets to hot weather should stabilise over the next few weeks
