Double hoophouse is working well this season, Mendi on left side, 2030 tobeck on right. Growing opposite directions, stumps are parallel to each other to maximize my patch space while still giving the stumps a 5 foot distance between them. Just gotta angle the main vines towards the center line of the patch.

Here's the 2030 Tobeck. Really good plant minus some leaf burn, only thing is that it REALLY doesn't wanna lay down.

If only photos did justice to how perfect the 2183.7 Mendi has been thus far. The 2030 tobeck is trying HARD to give the Mendi a run for it's money though.

Back end of mendi. Looks a little funny now as I am still training the main vine to the center line of the patch. Will look like a more "normal" vine pattern soon.

I forgot to mention that after talking with another grower, I decided to terminate my main vine past the fruit and keep one secondary growing, just for position purposes and to still hopefully benefit from having some plant growth past the fruit. Here was the plant today after getting some sunshine for a few hours, finally.

An updated pic of the 2030 Tobeck, buried and started positioning vines for this 3 DAP "keeper". I cut the first pollination off at 6 days old because it had seeds in the blossom. This was also a 2030 x 2009 Segaert cross.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago the 2183 Mendi I was growing, stopped. Very quickly the plant started going downhill. After 2 weeks of sitting in the patch slowly getting soft, we were able to get her weighed. 1037.9 lbs, 1/10th of a lb from my personal best!! I believe if we weighed her earlier, she would have been my biggest fruit ever. Thank you to Art K. for lifting her!
