The bacteria create an alkaline inviroment wich is not in favor of the fungi, so they have a hard time developing and are few. Once the protozoa (flagellets) population wil increase the bacterial situation wil stabelize and fungi wil come. Atleast in theory, lol. we wil see, on the picture struggeling fungal hyphea.
