Large types of pumpkins require 2 pounds of nitrogen, 3 pounds of phosphorus and 6 pounds of potash for every 1000 square feet of garden space. In the absence of a soil test apply approximately 25 to 30 pounds of a 5-10-10 fertilizer for every 1000 square feet of garden.
