weird morning today and a first for me. i was up early cuz i couldn't sleep and was sitting at my computer and at 3:55 a.m. the house started shaking followed by some weird rumbling groans. i thought it could have been a snow plow but then realized it was something different when it continued for about 3 seconds and then stopped. i knew right then it had to be a slight earthquake or a nearby explosion. i googled illinois earthquake but nothing showed up in the search. later on i clicked on the tv and found out it was a 3.9 earthquake that was centered near dekalb. pretty cool. never experienced an earthquake before. glad i had the snow day from work and couldn't sleep to experience probably a once in a life time event here in illinois.
