I’m starting to think I insane trying to grow-em big in the Chihuahuan desert. In another month the dust storms will come – did you know you can clean pots and pans hanging them on the clothes line? Then I’ll have to contend with 100+ temps all summer. The Monsoons will kick in and bring that sweet desert rain … but also more wind and, gulp, hail, hail, hail. And on top of that, OK, you’ll just laugh (perhaps cry) so I’m not even going to tell you how small my patch is. But I’ve started so I now I have to finish … and my lineup is …

917 Sperry (hoping it takes the heat since it is southern grown) wasn’t going to grow this one this year but was just too hard to resist. I’ll call this one the Pollinator)
