77 degrees today. nice. deep spading of the entire patch is finished, ammendments have been placed and a full 6 wheeled dump truck with 15 yards of priemo ted kruegers organimix compost will be delivered tomorrow for my buddy Ray to spread on the patch. Ray is out of work, and I worked most all winter without needing unemploynent, so he will break his back and make some scratch and everyone wins. lol. especially me. out of 72 small 2" peat pots with 3 giant tomato seeds per pot, only 5 pots have showed no signs of life yet. i was surprised how fast they sprouted. a 6 hour soak, 85 degree heat, and boom....3 days half showed signs of life. today after 5 days, only 5 pots have yet to show signs of life. and those were on the outside edges of the mat and didn't get as much heat. they will probably be up tomorrow or the next day. very successful germination run and i am happy to have everything down going into the big show soon to start.
