had the pumpkin weighed at the local grain silos on their truck scales.
with the pumpkin still on a pallet it came in at 380kgs.
so minus the pallet it bets the new zealand record of 334kgs set in 2005.
!!!!
the pumpkin is now at the auckland easter show waiting for the final weigh offs tomorrow, so far its the biggest one there.
one thing i did notice though was the total lack of co-ordination at the event.
which is a shame.
i think a few of us kiwi growers might set up something next year which might be more entertaining.
i'll keep you posted on the office results soon.
