well we survived our first frost and hopefully the last one! I checked every few hours and the lowest temp I saw was 65 degrees, Im hoping that wasnt low enough to do any damage. My husband laughed at me and compared my 'pumpkin watch' to when the children were newborns. Laugh if you will buddy boy but I'll grow a slunger some day! LOL
I was advised to add some nitrogen to 'green them up a bit'. I sprinkled 1 cup of 12-0-0 blood meal in a 6x10 area, raked it in and watered it down. I hope that was right. (please correct me if Im wrong) The directions on the bag suggested a little more but I decided to be safe Id add a smidge less. Like I tell my teenage daughter about her makeup.. less is more! haha
Im concerned with the growth of the 648 Young. Its conciderably slower than the 1238 Pennington. The leaves are smaller and oddly shaped with ruffled edges. I have a back up started and Im concidering pulling it and starting another. Good idea or bad? Im open to suggestions.
