"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — [pauses] - shame on you. Fool me — You can't get fooled again." president george w. bush
well even i can get fooled and i believe the 901 has fooled me good. with the extreme dry north wind this whole week and temps in the greenhouses yesterday at 91 degrees on a 80 degree day in the patch, i decided to give the sprouts a good soaking drink of warmed water. i figured they could use a drink by then and also the evaporative effect of wet soil under and around the plants would help keep some stress off them. that drink with the combined heat the past 2 days made the plants explode with new growth. the two leaves i thought were on the one side is actually one crazy mis-shaped second true leaf that is a weird shaped wide sucker that had overlaped on itself and looked like 2 leaves when it was small. besides that it has a partial slit down the center from the outside of the leaf edge going toward the center of the leaf. what i thought was two small leaves was actually one wide slitted weirdo second true leaf that was also folded in the center. with the explosion of new growth it has become obvious that this freak leaf is just one leaf and the third true leaf has already formed in the correct place and i jumped the gun...like a fool. doh. hey Meat, sorry about the mix up and if all goes as planned i will be going with this 901 which is the most aggressive sprout i have ever grown in my 8 years. i never meant to get your hopes up and the race is not over by any means cuz i still have your kick ass 873s next to both my 901 and 991. anything can happen by then and i will not hestitate going with one of the 873s if tragedy strikes or mutations show up. hope to see you on the podium at the Monsters of the Midway weigh off this year at Bengston's Farm, as long as you are either on the right or the left. wink wink. shazzy
