well i beat the heat today and got all patch work done early from 6:30 to noon. pretty toasty out there right now with the bright sunshine, low humidity, and very light north breeze. the a/c feels nice!!! i have been misting regularly with this heat and i decided now is the best time to cover my stumps. i pruned all 3 plants' stumps of all un-necessay small leaves, cots, and the small first true leaves laying on the ground. captan was applied to all fresh cuts and the little white plastic patio tables went over all 3 pruned stumps with a dobie brick on each table for wind weight. no sense getting these fresh cuts wet from misting so the tables came out early. i like don youngs' plexiglass trick and will do that sometime soon instead of the tables so the light can still penetrate at the same time of keeping the stump area dry. next i continued the vine burying and rti myco fungi at each leaf node and buried over the top of just each leaf node to encourage top taps to anchor down too. thanks to pap for the excellent post and replies from larry checkon and don young and tom p. and others in the premium members message board who helped me change my mind. i pruned all terts and did all hand weeding prior to that. then i added 3 more misting heads over each plant and will continue to add as needed. watered in some azos around all plants and tomatoes too. all other patch weeding was completed in areas the tiller did not get earlier this week. everything is in check, the plants are running like mad. the 1147 is still goofy but strong and still popping out double of everything just at every other junction on just one side of the plant. lol. freak. and i killed one cuke beetle and saw another and will spray talstar one this evening at twilight with a light dose and then demand cs full sttrength next weekend when cooler out. a very nice morning getting dirty in the patch was good for the head after a crazy week at work.
