There is a Grackle that continually tries to attack me if I get near the pumpkin patch. I look like a fool out there with a broom swinging it above my head. Of course, the bird is always just out of reach. Pollinated my first female yesterday, but am wondering if it was too hot to work. I guess I'll know in the next couple of days. Not sure that I'll keep this one since it's only 5 feet out, but can use the practice. When I cut the male flower yesterday there was a bee in it. I fired him though and took on the job myself!
