here is a pic of april this morning on day 41 on the 873 naylor. it has picked up the pace a couple pounds over the past 5 days to 24.4 pounds up from 22 a day and is hopefully going to be a long steady grower all the way to the end like my 1147 did 2 years ago and have some very thick walls. i have to believe with its smooth skin like its momma that was 24% heavy and papa that was 24% heavy, the outside numbers are not reflecting what the insides are doing. you can see a fissure in the connective tissue between the main and the stem formed into this hole that is similar to a knot hole on a tree. it has weeped and was cleaned and is healed and firm on both the stem and main around the hole. a fan is on a table blowing on it 24 hours a day and captan placed in an around the area. i need to keep a careful watch on this area to prevent losing the stem. so far just an eye sore that hasn't dropped the gains since showing up. i think it will be fine just like the hole from the fissure in the 991 main by the stump which is also completely healed. seems like the area grows bigger around both sides of the fissured hole to compensate in both cases. i am a big fan of the fan and both areas are being fanned til the end of the season and monitiored closely.
