This is the stem on the 1544 right after surgery. I cut the stem twds. the vine to hopefully reduce the chance of the split going deaper into the pumpkin flesh. I cut a matching slit into the bottom of the stem for drainage, the only problem is the way the fruit is sitting it creates a low spot twds. the fruit that can hold liquid. I soaked up all liquid and applied loads of captan!
