Pumpkin is very slow at the moment but all the local show veg has been taken out for the show yesterday so plenty of ventilation back in the patch. As you can see the right hand side is making a go for the ground. Fingers crossed it makes it ok. Someone suggested putting a sand bag to prop the pumpkin up. I have decided to place a half bag of compost underneath the bulge instead just incase it lurches backwards during the night. It's currently rocking away merrily! I'm hoping the compost will act more of a cushion if it does go. That way I can take small amounts of compost out gradually to ease the pumpkin down safely.
