R.I.P. 843 Bourne - Went away to the Nascar Race in Michigan last weekend and after 3.5 days away (it developed a stem split while I was gone) and a 35.5 pound per day average for 4 days in a row it finally gave up yesterday when the split inside the stem opened up right into the pumpkin. Yesterday it was a small crack and by this morning I could stick my arm right inside the cavity. Too bad because it was my best hope at a PB this year and this pumpkin had great colour as well. Estimated weight just over 400 pounds - Day 38.
