oops..that should have been 2.5 pounds per day over the last 11 for the 873 naylor pumpkin "april" sitting at 982 lbs estimate. i drenched the plants today with cal-mag and will hit with a heavier dose of 0-0-25 which i will put in 9 tsps for 4 gallons of water and also add 6 tsps of 3-18-18 along with fungicide, foliar fulvic, and insecticide and hit with the stihl fogger 4 gallons above canopy and 4 gallons below. with old age and slower rates of growth, i will do this once per week until the end now to try to encourage them not to shut down completely at any point. with low humidity direct sun and higher winds lately i have had to water 3 hours under the canopy every morning and then hit the plants with 2 hours overhead from 3-5 pm. the weeds are helping keep the soil from baking and drying out too quick. the work site is like the sahara and dust is real bad and the ground is giving up all that it has been pounded with all year with rain totals. keeping an eye on how fast clay soil dries with winds, temps and humidity has helped me all year this year with altering my watering to the conditional needs. we get some nice warmer weather back after some nights reaching only to mid 50s at night and high 70s in day. i picked this tomato on the right and had it officially weighed yesterday at pesche's garden center and it came in at 2.41 and is off the gordon graham plant. the only one not to blacken out on the blossom end all season. at least i beat that plant into finally giving up something. lol. thanks tom p. for the tomato blend drench mix and the cal-mag. this was put down today again in drench with additional seaweed around all 5 plants as i try for one more good one on each plant to finsih the year. the one one the left will get the seeds removed today to ferment and it was weighed officially at pesche's 8 days ago at 2.64 lbs and came off the ciesielski 09 seeds (5.58 timm x self)
