creeping along baby...creeping along. more bulging in areas not covered by the tape in the mid-center shoulders and upper outside shoulder corners and the continued whitening of the salmon skin across the top due to surface skin cracking and some more greening and cantoloping stem side is still happening. the largest circumference is down lower parellel to the ground. so with these visual growth signs, today i decided to throw on the tape and see what if anything is doing in the past 9 days and it is not my imagination. 200-110.5-103.5 = 414 ott or 1481 lbs estimate today on day 94 for clegg with 18 days left til picking, hopefully with the small number of original beat up leaves left and a few new ones still popping up that i will be able to keep the creeping growth going and maybe see another inch ott. the circ was an 1/8 of an inch over the 200" mark but too small to add to the calculation so i rounded down rather than up. what ever it does now will not be much if anything, but i will keep watering it as if it is still growing all the way to picking and loading day. glad to have george j. over saturday to see clegg first hand after we had a weigh off preparation meeting. it was funny how as he walked up through the path to the pumpkin he goes, "ya know you have a dead mouse here right next to the pumpkin." lol. yep the d-con is working, but it didn't make me feel any easier knowing that they are out there. i felt around all sides of the fruit and no soft spots or mouse holes or burrowing holes. but just another thing to get the mind spinning this close to the end. lol.
