Saturday pulled into Jared’s early. It said it started at 10:00, but didn’t say if that was the entry or weigh time? I would have been really bummed to have gone to such measures only to miss the entry time so I came early. Mine was first to be weighed and then had to wait for others. Scale said 190.5lbs so it went heavy! And no wonder we had a problem lifting it into the car! As time went on it looked to take #1, a state record, and I was thrilled. Unfortunately it had developed a soft spot on it's nose and was leaking = not sound fruit = Exhibition only and no record. I’m thinking I had more problems then I though in loading it into the hatch and must of banged the nose ... then siting almost two days and then out in the sun??? But the worst part really was the 12 hour drive back the next day as it was really leaking then and starting to stink!
The good was the 80.5 LG was good enough for a third place showing and as far as I can tell, setting the NM state record for now. Thanks you Mr. Sperry!!!!
