While these 1161 Rodonis vine tips all looked healthy at this stage as they began to grow out a virus infection became evident. As a result many of these were lost for fear of contamination.
At this time I cannot say if I will have plant material available come spring but I am hoping to find some clean tissue. Late season aphids were the reason for the virus and it was initially only evident in trace amounts until the stress of propagation started and the virus infection became more wide spread.
