We've decided to have yet another huge change, despite already spending five days double digging the whole patch. Stuart was thinking back to 30 years ago when we made our propagating soil for chrysanthemums out of a high percentage of perlite and how amazing the roots were. I then added that if we run out of poinsettia peat we bung the last couple of thousand into lily peat. These plants always struggle to grow as the peat is not open enough. So the long and short of it is that we are going to add around 20% perlite and re-dig the whole patch.
