How aggravating. There WAS a male open today... I failed to see it. Also the dampness (cooler, on and off rain, and very humid) seems to have degraded the flower. This is what happened last year and lost that pollination. So realistically I no longer have any reason to hope this one will take.
Now the plant will go crazy and get too big for its location. I really wish that energy was going into a pumpkin.
