First female flower on 180.8 Horde field pumpkin today at 8 ft. Female flower at 12ft on 1875 Mendi aborted. It looks like time to add bloom booster to the plants to stop female flowers from aborting.
495.2 Ressler continues to grow like crazy. First female flower at 10 feet. It would be ironic that a seed germinated last, put to grow in a spot in where used Miracle Grow potting soil was dumped for many years, and would be the first in the patch to be pollinated . Thinking of pollinating it with the 1875 Mendi instead of the 1878 Leer. Giving it a shot of double shot of 2145 genetics could turn this pumpkin into a big HD pumpkin because it was such a strong grower out of the gate. You never know what can happen with small seed genetics. I'll have wait to see what male flowers are available.
