The heat lamp is not without its issues however. You have to be really careful not to toast your plant. I have also had two bulbs explode. The second one caused a couple of glass shards to rip small holes in the leaves. I believe the issue is moisture. Condensation collects on the plastic of the greenhouse and then when the wind blows it literally rains inside. There are some small vent holes in the reflector and I think water got through those holes. The temperature shock of the cold water on the hot glass caused the explosion. I fashioned a shield to keep water away from those holes. Hopefully that does the trick. I also added some old window screen as a safety net to catch any breaking glass from future explosions. I am also looking for a more water resistant heat bulb.
