In general, the plant is in great shape and has basically filled its allowed area, which is right on the expected pace. There is still some CO2 left in the current bottle, so once this runs out the system will be removed as it has done its job of accelerating plant growth. Based on previous years of data collection it does not improve pumpkin growth, but does help plant growth. There will be some posts on the basic conclusions of carbon dioxide enrichment now that there are more data points across multiple years to draw more reliable conclusions from.
Only damage noticed at this point is some leaf margin burn. This was noticed last year and some measures were taken to try and avoid it this year, but looks like even favoring less fertilizers and waiting until the pumpkin was at day 13 there is a little damage. In no way is this negative for plant/pumpkin growth, but it is a sign that the line of above optimum has been reached so recognizing this, light adjustments will be made. This can be accomplished by either reducing fertilizer concentration or having “flush” days where no fertilizer is added. To keep a steady pattern the initial idea is to favor less concentrated fertilizer but keep up the daily feedings. Many think that 0.6 EC or 420ppm is already a minimal concentration, but clearly this is too much in this case. This shows the importance of reading the plant and making adjustments.
