Sheet of cork plugs, 1/4" thick. Using cork would be expensive, UNLESS clubs/growers could obtain the used sheets (the sheets where all the little corks have been removed) These "emptied" sheets could still be used. That would lower the cost to zero since when the corks are gone its just a sheet of waste material.
I'm sure the companies that use these little corks just toss the sheet away as waste.
The thickness and the flexibility-but-firmness of these spent cork sheets is just perfect!
I'll think more later about how to make this happen.
Meanwhile, if someone is looking for some pumpkin seeds let me know... I can do a test mailing from the spent portion of this sheet.
