I decided to get one 4'x 6'center ready to plant today. First, I dug a 2'x 3' deep hole for the gopher wire cage. Next, I added the cage and filled it in with 8 parts dirt, and one part a mix of gypsum, worm castings, organic potting soil and a little scoop of Dr. Earth. The mound the pumpkin will be planted in is 2' higher than the level ground.
