Here is the even worst news:

What you are looking at is my completely rotted stump. The white powder is Captan. The stump is completely rotted out.

I will cut the main vine back to healthy tissue tomorrow and bury it.

The surprising thing is that Clod is still putting on weight, and this stump couln'd have rotted over night.... I wonder how much he will grow on tap roots only?
