Here's what I do to TRY to prevent wind damage. It's been tough here. We have had 2 nights with 50ish+ east winds here. Very very rare to get big east winds. Saturday night we had 60ish gusts from the west. I basically have all plants surrounded by fence, but it's still not enough. The big gusts Saturday night split my 998 main vine....ouch.
