the 1446 main was dead headed along with more secondaries. i completed the cut on the number 2 pumpkin and now all the energy is going to the one. tomorrow morning it gets a white sheet cuz it has outgrown the 3x white t shirt. the 997 at 24' didn't want to open due to its weird leaves sort of stuck together. not a good sign. it was forced open yesterday on july 8th before work and pollinated with the 1041. last chance for another pollination will be in about 9 days which is the 18th and it will be at plus 30'. now i have to let some secondary flowers mature to maybe grow multilple halloweenies or give a good secondary kin a chance. tomorrow will be the 20' kin 10 day measurement if it has even grown. it might make 18" is my guess, but for one day older than the 1041 8 day old kin, it is hard to tell if it is just the fast paced 1041 or the slow paced 997 that has me so dissappointed in it. most likely the combo of the 2. the 1306 number one looks to be improving a bit with the warmer temps, but my bet will be on the 1306 number 2 to win the spot, that is if it takes completely. got one more pollination on the 1041 tomorrow just to make sure the the scrambled eggs fast grower will be the one or not. the 1041 main was dead headed along with the 1306. one main left growing is the 997 wrapped way around and running the fence line. the patch should be filled out completely in a less than a week. could use some more rain here and there. got some the last couple days, but the job site is dusty as hell already. been watering thoroughly, and the entire patch misting system with tornado heads helps out as well as i set it for 20 minutes 4 times a day at work on days 80 and above. my fenced in yard, plus the brick house, and the adjacent blacktop driveway increases the temps by about 5 degrees easy in some areas of the patch.
