dodged another bullet...big storms tonight with a wicked black line front coming in at dusk. no hail. some strong gusty winds probably 35 to 40 mph and a pounding rain...but thank God no hail. i might have some roll overs to correct in the morning, and when then rain finishes up tonight i will replace the wet t shirts and sheets with dry ones. but not too bad especially as wicked as the storm looked coming in. pollinated the number 2 1041 with 6 1041 males this morning and it was a perfect 5 lober. it will be a tough call if it takes...do i go with a scrambled eggs 5 lober that was 28.5" this morning on day nine and most likely at least 33" tomorrow on day 10, or go with the symetrical five lober if it has smaller gains as the second kin hits day 10. i am gonna set the mill fabric up under the number one 1041 tomorrow with plans on it being the one. and then keep a close eye on number 2 if it takes. the 997 at 10 days old i think has aborted. it only grew an inch over night and was 16" this am. a dud. we will see if the forced entry female takes at 24', and will still try the 30 plus for the hell of it, but i am thinking with many females at tips in good open secondary areas, it will be a halloweenie plant. the 1306 is only putting on 3 inches a day and is 26" on day 12. i made a mistake and left the female petals on for 4 days on the 1306 number 2, and with my misting i had some very soft lobes on the verge of rotting. the mushy lobes were cut off clean half way through the nub this am, treated with captan, and dried with a fan. nick of time i hope and this one will get better numbers at 10 days. the 17 day old 1446 was 58.5 this am and hitting 5 inches per day the last 2 days. hopefully this inch plus of rain tonight will not be too much for both her and the 1041 9 day old to handle.
