Seeing as there will be no big pumpkins coming from my patch this year, I've devoted more attention to other giant veg.

This is my giant beet. The leaves measure 115 x 100 cm (45 x 39"). I have a second, smaller beet going which I hope to use for seed. These two were the only ones to germinate from the 36 seeds I planted. They go back to the 2001 WR beet grown by Ian Neale of the UK.
