Here is split in stem I noticed a few days ago on our faster growing pumpkin. The split has not grown in three days and two days ago I put a ton of anti fungal powder on it and in it. we are in a very dry climate too so i am leaving this area uncovered in daytime to get sun dried. The pumpkin is putting on 20-25 pounds a day still and appears to have put on 25 pounds yesterday. it should top 400 pounds tomorrow. this is our first year growing so these are by far the two biggest pumpkins we have seen in real life. this one is about 38 days old. thanks for all advice and input so far. it as enabled us to keep these to alive and growing. steve
