This is my 1114 Pugh '08 (1041.5 McKie x 1385 Jutras). Both this pumpkin and my 954 were grown on the part if my patch that I had raised my seedbeds by 18 inches. I have really heavy clay soil that I have ammended pretty heavily over the past 5 years...but I still had drainage and vine rot problems. I'm hoping that the good results I had this year are because of my raised beds. This fall I brought in 320 yards of composted yard waste from our local landfill and now have a total of 8 raised planting spots to grow in for 2009!
