Has anyone used this in their pumpkin patch? I was thinking about using it this year, but am worried that it may have a negative effect on my pumpkins. Any feedback is welcomed.
Thank you,

Try a little hoeing and a lot of mulching. Your patch will say thank you.

Is Preen bad for the plant?

Preens active ingredient is trifluralin. It has been shown to cause injurious damage to pumpkins. If you are going to take the time to grow a big one better use a hoe.

Agreed. For competiton grade fruit the potential of root pruning by Trifluralin is not worth the chance. But then many people cause even more damage with their hoe if they're not careful so in some cases this point is moot.

It got so that I always used pre-emergent herbicides in the rows of our field pumpkins. In this case weeding is not cost effective & the weeds would cause a greater yield reduction than the herbicide so the choice was obvious.

How about some Corn Gluten Meal instead?
