Sorry if this has been asked before but, what are common brands of systemic fungicides for someone who buys most of my supplies from Orchard Supply Hardware or Ace Hardware nursery supply stores? Do any of you have good success with "typical" brands like ortho, scotts, etc? And are these foliar, drench water soluables or granular? Thanks!

There aren't too many "true" systemic fungicides out on the market nowadays. Look for the chemical, not the product name as different companies put the same product out under different names...not always, but looking for the chemical on the label is always your best bet.
*Propiconazole....also more commonly known as "Banner Maxx"
*Dimethyl4,4-0-phenylenebis-(3,thioallophanate)...also known more commonly as "Thiomyl"

These are the 2 I can think of off the top of my head, not sure of much more out there that are anything other than contact preventive. Tremor will chime in....

Thanks. I appreciate it.

Myclobutinil a.k.a. Immunox Claims to be a systemic. I have used it successfully for three years now as our sole fungicide with great results. We use heavy misting and do not suffer from PM. I apply with a tank sprayer as it comes as a liquid. We use the SpectracidePRO version.

Wether it is a "true" translocating fungicide or not I don't care as long as it works for me. I only apply to the tops of the leaves..

Where is %$#)(*" is Napomo?

Nipomo is between San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria. Insert Michael Jackson joke here.

Nice area, bet it is pricey. No jokes from me...I do find the duffbeer handle funny though as I brew for a living.

A "mobile home" will cost 300 grand. Median home price has reached almost the 500 grand mark. I've homebrewed myself, but it's just too easy to go with a Sam adams.

I use Immunox Plus and have had excellent results with it.
Immunox Plus also has insecticide in it which makes for a nice 2 in 1 spray.
Like C&R, I also mist my plants with no PM problems...unless I don't start my spraying program early enough.

C&R, what is the difference in betweeen Spectracide Pro and
regular Spectracide?

Myclobutanil is also known as "Eagle" and this is the same ingredient in Immunox, only a weaker concentration. I think many forms of Eagle are about 40% Myclobutanil. Tne only difference between the regular Spectracide and Pro would be the concentration %, or formulation I would think....Tremor can clarify this however.
I also believe that Eagle may not be a true systemic but again, Tremor can clarify this.
Forgot to previously mention that "thiomyl" also is commomly known as "Cleary's 3336"
There is also another fungicide called Subdue Maxx, the chemical metalaxyl-M, that is said to be a systemic used for pythium in turf...

Sorry...my post sounded funny upon reread. Immunox and Eagle are the same chemical, just a different concentration. Didn't mean to sound like I was contradicting Robert Kolb.....too late to be up, goodnight :0)

Not to sound like an advertisement for Matt, but he has a nice fungicide chart on his site which lists the active ingredient, brand names it's marketed under, and which types of fungus it controls. Go to pumpkinsupply.com, and look under links at "Fungicide Chart". Very handy... Thanks Matt (and Steve, if I'm guessing correctly that you prepared that chart.)

yep the pro version of spectracide is a higher percentage concentrate. It is cheaper per fl oz then the immunox label.

Sam Adams... now you are hurting me. They have other breweries contract brew something like 90% of their product.
a common pratice in the industry.Dumb commercials too.
