I have read several times to stop Nitrogen applications around pollination time. Does that include my weekly foliar spraying of fish, seaweed, and black strap? Thanks for all info. Peace Wayne

This would depend largely on the amount of naturally ocurring N that is releasing from your soils organic matter. The general concensus is to omit all applied soluble N just prior to & during fruitset to avoid tempting fate.

An exception to this might be the very low N found naturally in straight fish emulaions. Care again must be taken here since some "oragnic emulsions" are bolstered up with soluble forms of manufactured Nitrogen.

Another possible issue is getting the female lobes wet the day of pollination which would likely cause aborts.

Molasses contains no Nitrogen & should pose no risk if flowers are kept dry.
