Weeding makes me think about things I have no time to think about. It also makes me use words I don't normally use. So for fun.....how about adding the ending to the sentence "weeding is like....".....I know I'm not the only wacko out there....Brooks?!...whats weeding like?

I don't have hardly any weeds. Patch is about 90 percent weed-free. I started out with alot of compost and have buried all my vines this year with compost. Nice not to see any weeds

...aaahh...the beauty of a puny 1200 sq ft 2 plant patch mulched 4" with shredded maple leaves...I can count the weeds on one hand...Life is good! LOL

weeding is like tying my shoes for hours, with my belly in the way cutting off oxygen to my pea sized brain. with that in mind i stopped weeding at a certain point in the 95 degree temps. i work outdoors and weeding was the last thing i was doing when i got home from work. then they got too established so i left them be cuz to pull them would do more harm then good to the root system.

so now weeding is like over with, and the growing weeds remind me every day how next year i have to keep control over my weeds all year long even if its hot out. and the damn pop up tertiaries which i snipped only at the top when they show produced more lower quadraries, which were snipped at the top, and produced quinteraries, also snipped at the top when showing, and so on has put my patch out of control.

not pruning pop tertiaries directly at the secondary vines is like....creating a pumpkin jungle where some of the leaves in the patch are going over four feet high in sections.

Shaz, you just hit the nail on the head!!! Big time!!! This nu-B's patch is also out of control!!! Have already almost doubled P.B. though, so it has been a good year!!! Weeds be damned. Also have one going that could possibly...knock my P.B. into the weeds. Wish me luck and grow 'em big. Peace Wayne
