I have had a very busy summer and and have trouble with my left knee since I got hit with a softball catching for one of the pitchers on my daughters softball teem. I am always looking for ways to get things done faster, well I got this crazy idea last week and i wondered if anyone else has tried it and if they had good results with it. I use a miracle grow hose end fertilizer to add fish seaweed when I water. What I did is hook the hose to my 2100 psi power washer to see how it would spray. Well it has worked great so far. I have sprayed fish seaweed,liquid calcium,fungicide and insecticide with it. I add some food color to so I can dial in the amount of solution being added to the water. I am able to cover 7 plants without moving the power washer and it puts out a very fine spray that you can dirrect very well and it is very quike. I just wondered if anyone ever did this and if the solutions might take their toll on the pump.

I use the pressure washer to cover the Jack o Lantern Field with a fungicide. With the wind in the right direction the mist is carried across the 200 feet.I don't know about Fish and Kelp.

Does it get the undersides of leaves thoroughly without blasting 'em too hard? I've been thinking of upgrading next year since my compression sprayer just ain't cuttin' it when it comes to thoroughly applying fungicide / pesticide to the undersides of leaves...
Atomizer? Mist blower? Power washer? Not sure the best way to go...

I've used a pressure washer to mist my plants before.
I know they usually come with a set up so you can add detergents, so I don't know why soluable additives wouldn't work.
but I've never done it.

It will shred the leaves if you get direct contact. I just use it as a directional mister above the canopy.

Frank: I spay the plants from the walking boards that run down the center of my plants. My preasure washer has a nozzle that adjust for fine spray or a fan spray. You can put it on fan spray and dirrect it over the top of the leaves and it kind of rolls them upward. You can't spray close up because it is too strong, but you just move over to get the proper spray. I did hit my plants a little heavy with liquid calcium the first time i tried it but i have worked out the mixture to do it right.
Gordon: the only problem with using the hose to pick up detergents is that mine has to be on low preasure to do it. but it does work for doing a drence that way.
