I had some super bloom 12-55-6 with chelaterd iron lying around so i figured maybe it would help the pumkins .. I gave them a recomended dose and am waiting to see if any unusual progress comes from it .. has anyone else had any experience with this ...

I used it one time early in the season to promote bloom growth and stronger root development. Since I had no control plant I can't say if it helped or not. I did harvest a large numbers of both males and females. The roots of the 905 plant were very healthy and strong looking when I pulled the plant after the fruit split.
This is what I would consider to be an early season fert though. If the plant is mature I don't know what it will do with excess P. Maybe enhance the existing root structures? I will say that I did not suffer any of the abort problems that have plagued many growers in the northeast. Of course both of my comp. plants were pollinated early, the 905 on June 23 and the 1367.5 on July 1. The 658 Lovelace was pollinated in the heat and all 3 took as well as several open pollinations. Again I can't attribute it to the 12-55-6, but I think the high P helps the younger plants to dig deep early.

the plant is still young only a little over 5' on the main.. so maybe it will help to speed things up .. how often should I use it? the bottle says every 2 weeks..

I really can't help you there. I only used it once.

we use a high phosporas water soluable once a week for the first three weeks from planting
if you dont have a good soil base you could use a water soulable 20-20-20 once a week for weeks four to seven, then suspend until after pollinations have taken
