For anyone whose interested, my dry start, wet finish experiment proved to produce about the same result as steady watering does. Venus looks like she's going to topping out at over 500lbs and with unproven seed, it seems obvious I would have gotten the same result I did the past 2 seasons with my old seed. I hate it when it comes out 6 of 1 or a half dozen of another. But there you have it for anyone who wants to know for their own information. I did get the beauty I was after however.
