I'm going to get my soil tested this fall so I can get the garden ready for the spring planting. I found a website called Dr. GoodEarth offering these services. Has anyone used them? If not, can you recommend a good place to get my soil tested?

Thanks,

Fish

I use UMASS ... but I know a lot of people use and prefer AG labs.

http://www.umass.edu/plsoils/soiltest/

I get tests C. Standard soil test with Orgainic Matter, $13 and E. Soluable Salts $3.
I think it costs about $3 to send in a cup of dirt.
on crop list I put other - then write "Giant Pumpkins" in the comments section.

so about $19 for the whole thing

I would think Ohio State University would have a testing service. The AG Extension Office will no doubt have the soil test mailers, for sale. Our cost here, in Pennsylvania are similar, to the UMASS mentioned above.

in my experience extension offices don't do the greatest tests. UMASS tests are the only ones that i don't mind looking at. they seem to do a top-notch job, comparable to most private labs that we use.
