I checked tomatoes and vine crops as the main crops, and was recommended .2# N per 100 sq ft.

I'm thinking some sulfur to lower the pH, peat moss for the same reason and to raise the OM, and old manure.

Any suggestions?

I agree with your summation.

The lab is recommending a lot of N because of your low OM.

I had a test similar with a pH of 7.9. My soil test actually showed I have a medium high sulpher content. My agronomist recommended a 90% sulpher additive to lower the pH. If I use what they recommend to immediately bring the pH down, will my other veggies taste like sulpher?

I've been reading up on the sulfur too, I think the "ag sulfur" actually changes to sulfuric acid in the soil, lowering the pH. I'm not sure if it's actually available for uptake by the plants? I'm only applying it to the pumpkin patch this year, everything else goes gangbusters, even the potatoes, go figure.

Anyone have an estimate on how much OM I'll gain by tilling under sod? I'm enlarging the patch this year, still too much lawn:)

Go to your garden centre, purchase a couple of large bales of peat moss (depending on how big your patch is) and till it in. Not only will it raise your OM it will lower your PH at the same time.

Peat moss mixed with manure and tilled in....your worms will go crazy!!
