Rumor has it that you might should not spray molasses mixtures directly on the leaves. Has anyone heard info on this subject??

From what I have learned molasses is great as a foliar spray. But, may cause problems in extreme heat/dry weather, unless you overhead water. Still looking for more information myself.

I'm guessing that it could cause a problem if it is not mixed well or applied in too high of a concentration. But, a whole lot of people, very successful growers, seem to use it a lot.

Molasses, used in a regular program, at recommended rates, is a great addition to any gardening program.

Sure, applied too strong or too often it may have an adverse effect with intense sunlight or high temperatures. In my region, molasses has all but eliminated powdery mildue and is part of our system.

I think it depends on what and when other foliar sprays are being used. I believe it can block some of the stomates preventing them from asorbing other foliar applied nutrients.
