Somewhere lately, I read that adding a 5 gal bucket of alfalfa pellets in the planting zone, will boost your nitrogen to needed levels...I found alfalfa cubes at my local "Rural King" store (sort of like a Wal-Mart for farmers)...are cubes and pellets the same except for size? Peace, Wayne

Is the sodium level usually printed on the pkg? I grabbed the side of the bag these cubes were in an gave a light squeeze to one of the cubes...it fell to pieces under very light pressure...seems like they would break down on their own very quickly. Thanks for the help. Peace, Wayne

Companys like Fertrell remove the salt or never put it into their organic fertilizer meal products. Check around a bit. All feed grade pellets I have looked at contain lots of salts.

I'm with Dwaine on this....use a quality agriculture or horticulture grade & not feed grade alfalfa pellets to avoid potential salt issues.
